June 20th is World Refugee Day. Help us reach $150,000 to multiply churches that create welcome and belonging in Jesus' name.
There's a growing movement of churches concerned for refugees and vulnerable immigrants in this cultural moment. You're a part of it! Churches of Welcome has been hard at work, equipping churches both missionally and practically to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Dozens of churches are escaping the paralysis of cultural polarization and are now engaging some of the world's world’s most vulnerable people through welcome.
Your partnership will help cities like Atlanta, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, the Bay Area, Nashville, Des Moines, as well as your own city, have a growing network of churches that:
- Learn to welcome biblically and share Jesus faithfully
- Raise up missional leaders that are globally minded
- Multiply small groups that come alongside vulnerable immigrants
- Start practical ministries such as ESL, youth mentoring, and citizenship tutoring
We're praying that by June 30th, at least 20 churches will give from missions budget, special offering, or inviting members to give directly.
When 3 churches give $20,000:
At least 50 more churches can be equipped in more cities, so that the local narratives of Christians loving their neighbor can overcome the stories of division and fear. Help churches start life-changing ministry such as ESL, youth mentoring, and citizenship tutoring.
When 5 churches give $10,000:
More churches will be trained and supported to sponsor Afghans with Special Immigrant Visas, or to walk alongside newly arrived refugees in Jesus’ name as they restart their lives. Be a part of the Body of Christ that transforms the life of a vulnerable immigrant family.
When 8 churches give $5,000:
More churches led by immigrant pastors or former refugees will have support and coaching from our team of experts to help them navigate the fear and complexity many are facing in their community. Create belonging that will impact a new generation of the church that’s arrived from around the world.

The Welcoming the Stranger curriculum provided my small group with a framework to approach the conversation on immigration through the lens of Christ. It didn’t just challenge our perspectives—it gave us the language to wrestle with tough questions, the tools to take tangible action, and the heart posture to truly love our neighbors as Jesus would. It reshaped how I see immigrants, not as a political issue, but as people made in God’s image, deserving of dignity, compassion, and community.
This year, our church had the incredible privilege of partnering with Churches of Welcome to help resettle a refugee family from Colombia. The most beautiful part has been watching their three children build friendships with the kids in our church—playing together, learning together, and showing us all what true hospitality looks like. Through Churches of Welcome...we are building a family of faith that knows no borders.
Churches of Welcome give us the opportunity to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with an often overlooked group of people that are clearly close to the heart of the Father - refugees. I am thankful for the work of World Relief and look forward to partnering with them in this important work.
