Are you a member or a leader of a church affiliated with the Reformed Church in America (RCA) and interested in learning more about loving immigrants and refugees?

Through the Churches of Welcome, congregations embark on a year-long discipleship and missional journey to learn about God’s love for people on the move or living in diaspora, and to discern how God is calling them to put the love of Christ into action for our immigrant/refugee neighbors, or newcomers in need of resettlement in the United States.

The Reformed Church in America is partnering with World Relief to enroll RCA churches as Churches of Welcome. The RCA will cover the registration fee for up to 30 RCA churches to participate in the Churches of Welcome program, and will offer additional support to participating RCA churches through connection with JJ TenClay, who serves as refugee ministries coordinator for RCA Global Mission.

Vision for Your Church

Churches of Welcome is a growing movement of congregations committed to learning from and walking alongside our immigrant neighbors. We believe discipleship flourishes through relationships and proximity. Discipleship journeys are rarely a straight line—they’re complex, beautiful, and life-giving, as is each church's journey with Churches of Welcome.

At the heart of Churches of Welcome is the local church. Together, churches and their members step into the discipleship journey by learning, serving, building relationships, and welcoming their refugee and immigrant neighbors into the family of faith. For church leaders, Churches of Welcome is here to guide you as you equip your people to faithfully engage their immigrant and refugee neighbors in ways that form their faith and sharpens your church’s missional impact.
